Getting To PAAG-CON
St Edmund Hall is very centrally located on Queen’s Lane, just off the High Street (OX1 4AR). The college is within walking distance of the railway station, central bus station and the main shopping areas. Buses stop right outside on Queen’s Lane, including local buses (number 5 from the railway station) and buses to/from London (Oxford Tube) and Heathrow/Gatwick (LHR/GTW).
By Train
Oxford train station is a 20-minute walk from St Edmund Hall. There is a taxi rank at the station or you can catch the No 5 bus and get off at Queens Lane.
By Car
The college has NO PARKING facilities for visitors and parking is very difficult within the city centre. It’s highly advisable to arrive by some other means of transport if you can. If you are travelling by car then you are strongly recommended to make use of the city’s Park & Ride facilities.
Arrival at St Edmund Hall
On arrival at St Edmund Hall (known as Teddy Hall) please report to the Porter’s Lodge at the main entrance on Queens Lane. Note that the entrance to the college is quite small – it’s on the right-hand side of Queens Lane, about 50 metres up from the High Street. The postcode is OX1 4AR.
The Porter’s Lodge is on the right-hand side as you go through the passage from the main entrance to the Front Quad and it is almost impossible to miss. There may be signs on display saying that the college is closed to visitors, but please ignore them as they don’t apply to you.
The staff in the Porter’s Lodge are very friendly and should be expecting you. They have a list of names of everyone who is expected. If you have booked accommodation, you can collect your key and drop your things in your bedroom. We’re told the rooms will be available from 9am. Towels are provided. There are no hairdryers provided in the room.
Internet Access
There is WiFi available throughout the college. You don’t need a password, just use the SEH Guest network.
